This document presents the different parts of the Strategic Plan of the Graduate Program in Applied Informatics (PPGIA), highlighting its relevance for improving Brazilian Graduate studies. The Strategic Plan was established based on a CAPES initiative to structure Graduate Programs (PPG) more efficiently. Since 2019, its presentation has become essential, as it is conditioned on a more comprehensive evaluation of the PPG, giving it an important differentiator in the evaluation process.
The Strategic Plan (PE) plays a fundamental role in the strategic management of PPGIA, guiding its actions in daily decisions and in short-, medium-, and long-term planning. The collaboration of the UFRPE Pro-Rectory of Graduate Studies and PROPLAN has been essential in assisting programs in the construction and preparation of the PE, providing the definition of clear standards and improving processes. The results obtained from this work will allow PRPG to obtain a comprehensive strategic vision of the programs, enabling it to make well-structured and strategic decisions, which will contribute to more efficient governance in the University's graduate studies.
It is worth noting that a dedicated effort was made to align the Strategic Plan with CAPES requirements. This alignment is reflected in the methodology for preparing the PE since the CPA reports played an important role in the diagnosis, contributing significantly to the Environmental Analysis—SWOT and, consequently, to the definition of Strategic Goals and Action Plans.
In addition to this introduction, the document presents the members of the teams that contributed to its preparation, addressing (i) Organizational identity, (ii) Environmental Analysis - SWOT, and (iii) the Strategic Goals and Action Plans. Lastly, in the Final Considerations, the results achieved and their perspectives are highlighted, consolidating the continuous commitment to the improvement and excellence of the Graduate Program in Applied Informatics (PPGIA).
